Virat Kohli-led Indian team extended their dominant run on home soil in Test cricket by defeating Bangladesh by a thumping innings and 130-run margin in the series opener at Indore and take an unassailable 1-0 lead.

The win against Bangladesh was India's sixth consecutive win on the trot and helped them cement their position at the top of the ICC World Test Championships.

With their clinical win over Bangladesh in the Indore Test, India ensured 60 points in their kitty and also became the first team to scale 300 points in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship and now have a massive 240 point lead over second placed New Zealand, who are on 60 points from their two Tests. Third placed Sri Lanka also has 60 points and is followed by Australia (56 points) and England (56 points).

It is notable that Indian team were also the first and till now only team to reach 100 as well as 200 points in the World Test Championship.

With this win, the Virat Kohli-led side recorded its fourth straight Test win at home this season. India had earlier blanked South Africa to complete a 3-0 whitewash.
