The International Cricket Council (ICC) has scheduled the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2025 to take place from June 11 to 15 at Lord's.


Next year's ICC World Test Championship final will take place at the iconic London venue from June 11 to 15, 2025, with June 16 available as a reserve day if required.


The WTC 2025 will be the third edition of the championship. The first two WTC Finals were held at Southampton in 2021 and The Oval in 2023. For the first time, World Test Championship final will be hosted at England's Lord's stadium.

New Zealand won the inaugural WTC Final by defeating India to claim the trophy, while the second edition saw Rohit Sharma and his team lose to Australia. India has a strong chance of reaching their third consecutive WTC Final in 2025.


The 2025 World Test Championship Final will feature the top two teams on the WTC Points table at the end of the current cycle. Team India at present is in the leading position, ahead of reigning champions, Australia (second).


According to the latest WTC points table standings, New Zealand (third), England (fourth), Sri Lanka (fifth), South Africa (sixth), and Bangladesh (seventh) are still in contention for a spot in the one-off final.


"The ICC World Test Championship Final has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the cricketing calendar and we are pleased to announce the dates for the 2025 edition," ICC CEO Geoff Allardice said.
