Former India teammates Yuvraj Singh and Manpreet Gony produced match winning performances help Toronto Nationals register a thrilling win in their second match of Global T20 Canada against Edmonton Royals on Saturday in Brampton.

Yuvraj Singh who drew a lot of flak owing to his lackluster performance with the bat in the season opener against Vancouver Knights came out with a much better performance that helped his side pull of a sensational chase against the Royals.

The left-handed batsman tonked 3 sixes and as many boundaries in his quick-fire 21-ball 35 that helped the Nationals successfully complete a 192-run chase in the T20 game at the CAA Center.

Yuvraj Singh, enthralled fans with his breathtaking strokeplay as he took the attack to Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan, much to the delight of the Toronto Nationals fans who had jam packed the stands.


Yuvraj though was unable to stay till the end of the match as a slower ball from Ben Cutting dismissed him in the 10th over with Toronto still needing more than 100 runs to win.

Fast bowler Manpreet Gony emerged as the unlikely hero for Toronto Nationals as he hit 33 from just 12 deliveries to help them win a thriller. Tail-enders Mark Montfort and Salman Nazar chipped in with handy contributions as the duo remained unbeaten as Toronto Nationals won with 13 balls to spare.
