Australian star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been hospitalised after being found drunk last night as it was reported that the World Cup winner was on a night out in Adelaide and more than adequate drinking caused him to be hospitalised. The Melbourne Stars captain was earlier granted a much needed rest as the Cricket Australia (CA) made some alterations to the squad for ODI series against West Indies.

As reported by AAP, a CA official gave the following insights on the issue:

"Cricket Australia is aware of an incident involving Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide at the weekend and is seeking further information. It is not related to him being replaced in the ODI squad, a decision that was made following the BBL and based on his individual management plan. Maxwell is expected to return for the T20 series."

Maxwell's Never Ending Injury Saga

Glenn Maxwell has always been in the limelight majorly for good reasons, but sometimes, some bad or absurd reasons as the popular cricketer is not so lucky when it comes to injuries. He recently suffered a concussion in India, after falling off a golf cart during the ODI World Cup 2023 India. However, he didn't miss out on much and remained fit enough to play the entire tournament ahead en route to their triumphant campaign.

The all-rounder also suffered from a horrific fracture back in 2022, during the T20 World Cup, as he fell during a party at a friend's house.

Maxwell has had a tremendous 2023 but is not having a much memorable 2024 as he recently relinquished his captaincy for Melbourne Stars following a dismal campaign that had below average showings by majority of the players.
