New Delhi: Virat Kohli along with the entire Indian cricket team surprised Yuvraj Singh by turning up for his pre wedding ceremony but the biggest surprise he received was from England fast bowler Stuart Broad.
Stuart Broad set up a perfect example of not letting ‘on-field’ matters come into personal frame when he decided to turn up for Yuvraj’s ‘Sangeet’ ceremony.
Yuvraj had demolished Stuart Broad and left a permanent dent on the pacer’s international career when he slammed him for six consecutive sixes in the inaugural World T20 in 2007 at Kingsmead, Durban. It was the fourth time in the history of cricket but the first occasion in T20 when a batsman had hit six sixes in an over.
India went on to win the title and Yuvraj Singh was one of the star performers for a rejigged Indian side led by M S Dhoni.
England suffered a thumping 8 wicket defeat in the hands of India at Mohali but the tall fast bowler did not reflect any scars of the Mohali defeat nor the six sixes. Broad, instead, was all smiles while entering the ceremony.
Today, one of the brightest stars of India cricket, Yuvraj Singh tied knot with actress Hazel Keech in a private affair at a Gurudwara in Fatehgarh.
