The ongoing Test series against England has clearly depicted India’s problem with their opening pair. Skipper Virat Kohli’s experiment with a handful of opening batsmen though have worked on the Indian flat tracks, but when it comes to foreign pitches, the outcomes have brought nothing but disappointment.

Another glimpse of this epic failure was witnessed when India went to chase a target of 245 runs on the fourth day of the fourth Test in Southampton.

Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul began the mission and were expected to sail the ship to a safer side. Instead, India lost their first wicket in the first ball of the 4th over. Rahul failed to read Stuart Broad’s tricky inswinger and got beaten in the worst possible manner.

He didn't get his bat down in time and the ball dislodged the stumps after taking a fine edge of Rahul’s willow. The 26-year-old was clean bowled on a 7-ball duck.

Here’s the video:

If we have a look at KL Rahul’s last 13 innings away from the Indian sub-continent, the results will itself narrate the story of his collapse. He has scored just 171 runs at an average of 13.15. Despite getting ample chances to bat in top 3 positions, Rahul has shown no improvement with the bat.

And following the latest fall, people are raging on social media and demand him to be replaced by Prithvi Shaw.
