England cricket team's 'best ever' bowling attack fired in unison as West Indies were left reeling at 137/6, needing 33 more to avoid the follow-on when the bad light forced the play to stop on Day 2 of the third Test at Old Trafford on Saturday. The day belonged to star performer Stuart Broad, who scored a quick 62 followed by two important wickets as the visitors still trailed by 232 runs.

Ace speedster James Anderson bagged a wicket in the very first over after Tea by taking out Shamarh Brooks for mere four runs as West Indies were left reeling at 59/3.

Even after taking wickets on either side of the Tea, Anderson seemed even more determined to deliver another major blow to the visitors and he almost succeeded in that too but, unfortunately for him, a good review from Blackwood denied the veteran another quick wicket.

Jimmy also attained a unique milestone by becoming England's leading wicket-taker against West Indies.

With England on top, it seemed West Indies now looked to save as many wickets as they could before the end of day's play.

Chase and Blackwood were just surviving, making sure not to give the hosts another wicket. However, Broad got Roston Chase (9 runs off 36 balls) trapped in front of the stumps for LBW out and half of the Windies batters were back into the hut.

Amid some excellent bowling from English bowlers, Blackwood and skipper Jason Holder managed to move past 100.

Just when the duo started to look solid, Woakes knocked over Blackwood's middle stump with Windies still 60 runs short of the follow-on target.

Just a few overs later, bad light brought an early end to the day's play as the visitors ended their day on 137/6, needing 33 more to avoid the follow-on.
