The Day three of the second Test between England and West Indies was abandoned due to rain at Old Trafford in Manchester. West Indies will resume tomorrow on 32/1 in their first innings. The entire first two sessions on the third were washed out as not even a single delivery could be bowled.
A drawn series is enough for West Indies to retain the Wisden Trophy so the onus will be on England to get the best of result in the remaining two days. The hosts now have 196 overs to bowl the visitors out twice and level the series at 1-1.
On day two in Manchester, Ben Stokes and Dom Sibley led the way with a 260-run partnership as England posted 469/9d. Windies openers began stubbornly before Sam Curran trapped Campbell lbw for 12, leaving West Indies 32 for 1, trailing by 437 runs.
Nightwatchman Alzarri Joseph will accompany Kraigg Brathwaite to the middle on Day four.
West Indies have a 1-0 lead in the series following their four-wicket win in the first Test played at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
