After a series of failures in the ongoing Tests in England, the Indian cricket team has received a delighting news ahead of their next face-off. Star pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is likely to be available for selection for the Nottingham Test which is scheduled to begin on August 18.

As per several media reports, Bumrah was ‘bowling fit’ at the nets ahead of the 2nd Test at Lord’s. However, the team management wanted to give him some more time to recuperate from the finger injury. Since the pitch at Trent Bridge hardly has anything to offer to the spinner, Kuldeep Yadav is likely to make way for his fellow cricketer.

Bumrah fractured his left thumb during the 1st T20I against Ireland and missed out on the limited-overs leg of the England tour, prompting the board physios to advise the fast bowler to undergo a surgery in England.

Apparently, the surgery didn’t go well and he couldn’t feature in the first two Tests.

Apart from Bumrah, the Team India think tank may rope in Rishabh Pant for the next game, following the lack of form of Dinesh Karthik. The 33-year-old wicketkeeper scored 0, 20, 1 and 0 across four innings against England on the ongoing tour and thus could make way for 19-year-old Pant.

Pant, who got a maiden Test call-up, impressed the selectors with his performance in the IPL and then for India A in England. He scored an unbeaten 67 against West Indies A and 61 against the England Lions in the Unofficial Test played in July.
