Veteran India wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik took to Twitter to express his disappointment over exclusion of Baba Indrajith from South Zone's team for the upcoming season of Duleep Trophy tournament. All six teams from different zones of India -- North, South, East, West, Central and North East --  have been announced for the Duleep Trophy tournament, likely to kickstart from June 28 and run till July 14. The South Zone team announced by BCCI for Duleep Trophy did not feature Baba Indrajith, which got Dinesh Karthik fuming as the veteran expressed his displeasure publicly by tweeting about it. Baba Indrajith last played a List-A match in March 2023.

"I DONT understand selection committee these days. BABA INDRAJITH plays for Rest of India against MP in the first week of March 2023. There has been no first class matches post that , but he doesn't feature for SOUTH ZONE in the duleep trophy. Can someone tell me why??," Karthik captioned the post.






The responsibility of captaining the South Zone team in Duleep Trophy has been given to Hanuma Vihari, while Mayank Agarwal has been named the vice-captain.


Indrajeet last featured in Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League for franchise Abahani Limited. He played just three matches in the tournament, scoring 19 runs. Earlier, he represented Rest of India team in Irani Trophy 2023 against Madhya Pradesh.
