Hosts India who trounced Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs in the 2-match series opener at Indore will look to keep the winning juggernaut alive and register a win in their first challenge of playing with the pink ball in the international arena.
With India playing its maiden Day-Night Test, there is a lot of excitement amongst the Indian players and the die-hard fans over how will they fare against the Pink Ball challenge. Australia have the best winning percentage among all international teams when it comes to Day-night Tests. The Aussies have won all five of their day-night Test played. Sri Lanka is the second in the list with two wins out of three. England, South Africa and New Zealand have won one Test each.
West Indies have the worst record in terms of featuring in Day-Night Tests. The Windies have lost all three of their Test rubbers playing with the pink ball under lights.
Eight of the 12 Test playing nations have played Day-Night Tests in their cricketing history. India and Bangladesh are the only two major Test playing nations from the 12-member Test club to have not played the newly conceptualized format.
Adelaide Oval in Australia holds the distinction of holding the most umber of Day-night Test matches. The historic venue has hosted 3 Day-Night Tests with hosts Australia coming out victorious in all three of them.
