Indian batsman Ambati Rayudu was recently dropped from India’s ODI squad after failing the Yo-Yo Test. After a phenomenal performance with the bat and scoring over 600 runs in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL), Rayudu got the Indian call-up after a gap of two years.
However, he couldn’t manage to pass the mandatory fitness which led him out of India tour of England.
Meanwhile, former BCCI president and CSK boss, N Srinivasan has stated that Rayudu’s ousting has disappointed him hugely. While addressing media personnel during an event, Srinivasan said,
“I am sad he is not with the team. I don’t think it is my sentiments. Anybody who watched cricket this season would echo alike. But I never comment on selection, so I did not want to be misunderstood.”
After he has been ruled out of the tour, he will be rooting for England, with a different cricketing assignment.
The Chennai Super Kings flamboyant batsman has been given the responsibility to mentor the junior Super Kings squad that will tour England to play in the Junior International Academy tournament in Yorkshire.
There will be seven T20 games including the finals, with each team playing the other side twice and four fifty-over games including the finals.
