New Delhi: The Australian professional T20 tournament, KFC Big Bash league has been a treat for the cricket fans ever since its inception in 2011. With the 7THseason to kick off in summer down under this year, Cricket Australia has decided to bring in some changes, expanding it to 10 matches in the group stages being the most prominent one.

The CA has come up with the following changes:-

•         Each of the eight teams will play ten games each rather than eight games, featured up until last year.

•         Each team will play 5 home and 5 away games.

•         There will be a total of 43 games in the 47 days tournament starting on December 19.

•         The Women’s Big Bash League, in its third edition, will start ten days before that, on December 9. The finals of both will be onFebruary 4.

•         In all, 22 of the 59 WBBL matches will be double-headers alongside the men’s games.

“We know the MoU is still being finalised, but we are confident this won’t affect the upcoming BBL and WBBL season,” said Anthony Everard, Cricket Australia executive general manager of events and leagues.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming a huge number of travelling fans who are coming out for the Ashes. This will help them plan their ultimate summer in Australia.”
