India in Asia Cup 2023: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) picked a strong 17-man squad for Asia Cup 2023, which is set to start on August 30. Rohit Sharma-led India will kickstart their Asia Cup 2023 campaign with a blockbuster clash against Pakistan on 2nd September in Kandy, Sri Lanka and two days later they will go up against Nepal at the same venue.

Here's a look at the six Indian players, who haven't played ODI for a long time, but are back in the national team for Asia Cup 2023.

Prasidh Krishna, a regular in India's T20I team, has been named in India's Asia cup squad after bowling well in IND vs IRE T20Is. He last played an ODI match on August 20, 2022.

World's no. 4 ODI pacer Mohammed Siraj, after missing IND vs WI ODIs due to a sore ankle, is all set to return to action in Asia Cup 2023.

Senior pacer Mohammed Shami, who was last seen playing for team India in World Test Championship final, was rested for Windies tour and Ireland tour. His last ODI appearance was earlier this year in March.

Now declared match-fit, Shreyas Iyer will be making a comeback to team India after remaining out of action since March 2023 due to a back injury.

Team India's first-choice wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul hasn't played a single game for India since May 1, 2023. He has been picked in India's Asia Cup 2023 squad but still has a niggle and most likely won't feature in IND vs PAK match on September 2. BCCI informed that Rahul will be available for selection from 2nd or 3rd match onwards.

Jasprit Bumrah, who is very important for India's ODI World Cup 2023 plan, made his return to international cricket after almost a year's break with India tour of Ireland. The ace pacer hasn't featured in any ODI match for India since July 14, last year. However, Bumrah's recent bowling figures against Ireland in 1st two T20Is (two wickets each in first two T20Is) show that he has gained back his old rhythm.
