New Delhi: Gary Ballance certainly did injustice to his name by tumbling on to his stumps while attempting a lifted cover drive in one of the most bizarre dismissals during a Royal London One Day cup match in Headingley.

The England international played a commendable innings for his side Yorkshire before getting hit-wicket for 72.

Leicestershire fast bowler Tom Wells was himself taken aback by the turn of events but was quick to jump into celebration upon seeing the dislodged bails.

However, Ballance was the top scorer for his side as Yorkshire posted a respectable 258 batting first. Adam Lyth (52) and Azeem Rafiq (52) struck important half-centuries.

In reply, Leicester could only manage 238. Left-arm spinner Karl Carver picked up 3 wickets for 28 runs for Yorkshire.
