Australian captain Pat Cummins announced the team's playing 11 for the 2nd IND vs AUS Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 on Thursday. Australia will have just one change in their playing 11 from the Perth Test as pacer Scott Boland is set to replace the injured fast bowler Josh Hazlewood for Adelaide’s day-night Test. India are leading the five-match BGT series by 1-0 after defeating Australia by 295 runs in Perth.
The rest of Australia’s playing 11 remains unchanged as Australia look to defeat India in the pink-ball Test at Adelaide Oval and level the series 1-1. Despite dealing with a niggle from the series opener, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has retained his spot. Hazlewood is said to have suffered a 'low-grade' side strain injury after his impressive bowling spell in the first match, albeit in losing cause.

Boland, already included in Australia's 13-member squad for the 2nd Test, returns to the Test side after his last appearance in the 2023 Ashes. This will be Boland's second pink-ball Test in Adelaide, his first being against the West Indies in 2022, where he claimed three wickets. The right-arm pacer boasts an impressive record against India, highlighted by his 5/105 figures during the World Test Championship final. Boland was Australia's standout bowler in that match, playing a pivotal role in their 209-run victory to secure the title.
