Eoin Morgan, the ex-England skipper, remarked that overseas talents such as Ben Stokes relish playing under the leadership of MS Dhoni during the Indian Premier League (IPL). Morgan emphasised that Dhoni's influence leaves a profound impression on every player, fostering a sense of confidence and pride linked with representing CSK.

Speaking at JioCinema, Eoin Morgan expressed that overseas players greatly appreciate playing under MS Dhoni's captaincy in the IPL. He highlighted Dhoni's exceptional leadership qualities, emphasising his ability to inspire confidence and pride in every player. Morgan noted that Dhoni's influence ensures unwavering support and belief among the team members, fostering a strong sense of unity and determination within the CSK squad.

"They absolutely love it, to be honest. They talk about the same characteristics. When you’re talking about being led brilliantly, you always say, ‘Will the team follow him?’ When it's MS Dhoni, you never question that. He leaves an indelible mark on every player. He instils the belief that they have the ability to go out and play with the pride that’s associated with CSK, and lets them know that everybody is backing them," England’s World Cup-winning captain remarked while speaking at JioCinema.

‘They Absolutely Love Wearing That Yellow Shirt’

Morgan further added that Ben Stokes thoroughly enjoyed playing under MS Dhoni's leadership. Stokes had the opportunity to experience this during his time with Rising Pune Supergiant for a couple of years and also shared the dressing room with Dhoni last year. Morgan emphasised the deep appreciation overseas players have for representing the CSK team, symbolised by the iconic yellow shirt.

"Ben Stokes, who has an incredible amount of self-belief, loved playing under MS Dhoni. He did it at Pune for a couple of years and obviously shared the dressing room with him last year. They absolutely love wearing that yellow shirt," Morgan added further.

Ben Stokes was most recently involved in a five-match Test series against India, where the visiting team suffered a 1-4 defeat. Notably, Stokes opted to make himself unavailable for IPL 2024 to prioritise managing his workload and maintaining his fitness.
