Pakistani spearhead Haris Rauf has made quite a stir with his bowling prowess in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL). His sheer brilliance with the bowl has not only provided the boost to his team Melbourne Stars but also solidified his chances of receiving a national call-up.


However, his recent outing against Sydney Thunder sparked a new controversy. He claimed his tenth wicket in the tournament but his celebration seemed to have left a number of cricket fans fuming.

Haris ran through the stumps of Thunder batsman Daniel Sams, following it up with with a ‘throat-slashing’ celebration which turned several fans angry on social media.

Stars bundled out Thunder to a total of 142/7 in 20 overs where Haris’ 3-wicket haul played the major role. In reply, half-centuries from Marcus Stoinis and Nick Larkin were enough for them to clinch the encounter.

The Pakistani pacer replaced injured South Africa pacer Dale Steyn in the Stars side. Haris came with a mind-blowing show as he returned with figures of 5/27 from his four overs against Hobart Hurricanes on Sunday.
