Rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal is all set to make his debut on Australian tour as IND vs AUS five-Test Border-Gavaskar Test series begins from Friday (November 22) onwards in Perth. Despite his recent struggles, the young left-handed batter has a great opportunity to shine in BGT.

The 22-year-old will be eager to turn things around against Australia after his disappointing performance in the home Test series against New Zealand.

Aside from his disappointing performance in the home Test series against New Zealand, Jaiswal has been in excellent form throughout 2024. With 32 sixes to his name this year, he has been a constant threat to opposition bowlers.

If Yashasvi Jaiswal manages to hit two more sixes against Australia in IND vs AUS Perth Test, he'll break the current World record for most sixes in a calendar year in Test cricket. Former Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum, who struck 33 sixes in 2014, is the current record holder.

Jaiswal has so far featured in 11 Test matches this year, scoring 1,119 runs from 21 innings at an average of 55.95, including one century and one half-century. In total, he has played 14 Test matches, scoring 1,407 runs in 26 innings at an average of 56.28, with 3 centuries and 8 half-centuries.

The Southpaw has scored a double century in Tests. However, scoring runs on challenging, bouncy pitches of Australia will be a tough test for the young rising star.

Australia's formidable win record at Perth's Optus Stadium

The first match of IND vs AUS Test series will take place in 'pacers-friendly' Perth. With Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill absent, India's batting order appears weakened.

Australia's dominant record at Optus Stadium poses a big challenge for India. Aussies have won all four of their Test matches at this venue. The first-ever Test played there, against India, saw Australia secure a 146-run win.
