Former Pakistani cricketing legends Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Afridi have expressed disappointment over Pakistan’s dismal performance in the ongoing Asia Cup, following a heart-breaking loss to Bangladesh in the semi-final of the tournament. Both veterans took to Twitter to express their displeasures on their team’s performance.
Afridi while congratulating the Bangladeshi team for making it to the final, highly criticized his team for lacking the attacking mindset in the match. He also suggested the team to practice more and work on their shortcomings to make a strong comeback.
"Congratulations Bangladesh. Disappointed by Pakistani team's overall performance. Lacked attacking play of cricket in all fields. It's a young side who performed well in the last tournaments and set r expectations high. More focus n practice is needed4a stronger comeback #HopeNotOut," Afridi wrote.
Legendary fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar too expressed his grief by saying that it was too disappointing to see such a young team collapse in such manner.
However, It seems that the Pakistan selectors and management have taken their suggestions seriously. After winning just two games in the tournament, and getting beaten twice by India and decisively by Bangladesh, there are reports that skipper Sarfraz could be rested at some point during the two home series against Australia and New Zealand.
