England bowling attack have failed to stop Aussie run-machine Steve Smith in the ongoing Ashes 2019. Smith, who missed the entire third Test due to concussion, still managed to score a staggering 761 runs in just six innings. While it has become almost impossible for the hosts to get Smith out cheaply, legendary spinner Shane Warne has a tip for English bowlers to get him out.

Warne heaped praises on Smith for being so dominating in the entire Ashes series, saying that England have simply had no answer for Smith. As per Warne,  the real key to get Smith out is trying to get him to hit through the covers – play away from his body.

“I can’t remember an instance of a batsman being so dominant against a team – 751 runs in the series! England have simply had no answer for him,’ Warne said while adding, "whatever plans they have come up with, they either have not sustained them for long enough, could not execute them well enough, or Smith has just been too good. If I was England captain, I think the real key is trying to get him to hit through the covers – play away from his body.

Warne has suggested the England bowlers to bowl full at Smith, not too wide but wide enough that he is looking to hit the ball through the offside.

"You need to bowl full at him, not too wide but wide enough that he is looking to hit the ball through the offside. Then mix it up with the odd short ball, with a leg slip. That’s what I’d be doing. I also don’t think there have been enough really good slower balls to Smith when he has first walked out to the middle,” Warne added.

After retaining the prestigious Ashes urn, Tim Paine-led Australia would look to win the final Ashes 2019 Test and win the series.
