Arjun Tendulkar, son of Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar, is back in the headlines following his terrific bowling performance in an Under-19 KC Mahindra Shield match on Thursday. The Left-arm young speedster took six wickets for 70 runs to help his team Vijay Merchant XI defeat Vijay Manjrekar XI by six wickets.
The Vijay Majrekar XI batted first and managed to score 233 runs in the first innings. In return, Arjun’s team amassed 335 runs following Pragnesh Kanpillewar’s 155 and took a 102-run lead. Later, Manjrekar XI were skittled out for 216 as Junior Tendulkar went on to scalp six wickets to set up a straight-forward run-chase for the eventual victors.
Recently Arjun claimed a five-wicket haul at the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, bagging the figures of 5/30 to help Mumbai thrash Gujarat by 9 wickets.
