Anvay Dravid, the younger son of India's batting legend Rahul Dravid, has been appointed Karnataka's U-14 team team captain in a zonal competition. Notably, Anvay plays junior level for cricket for Karnataka and has made headlines for his performances with the bat from time to time. Based on his consistent run, he has been chosen to lead the side.

It is pertinent to note that Anvay is a wicketkeeper. His father, who is currently the head coach of the Indian national cricket team, also kept wickets for India during a period of time when the Men in Blue were struggling to find the perfect balance. However, Dravid donning the keeping gloves allowed India to go for an extra batter. Eventually the arrival of the likes of MS Dhoni allowed Dravid to play as a specialist batter.

Not only Anvay but even his elder brother Samit is a cricketer who smashed two double centuries in the 2019-20 season at the U-14 level. While Samit tasted success at this level, eyes will now be on Anvay as both youngsters would look to have great cricketing careers ahead of them, following the footsteps of their father.
