On Tuesday, the BCCI junior selection committee named the  India A squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 to be held from 13th to 23rd July in Colombo. Yash Dhull, the 2022 under-19 World Cup-winning skipper will be leading the team while Abhishek Sharma has been named his deputy. Sai Sudharshan of Tamil Nadu has also been added to the side following a great last IPL with Gujarat Titans.  His state colleague Pradosh Ranjan Paul found a spot too.


"The Junior Cricket Committee has picked India A squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 to be played from 13th to 23rd July in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The tournament to be played between eight Asian nations will be held in a 50-over format," BCCI announced in a statement.






Among the bowlers, Manav Suther and Yuvrajsinh Dodiya who had a great stint during the Ranji Trophy last season have been included in the  15-member team. The Indian team has been placed in Group B alongside Nepal, UAE A, and Pakistan A.  Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, and Oman A form Group A. The top two teams from each group will reach the semifinals which will be taking place on July 21. The final will be played on July 23.


The Indian team under the leadership of Yash Dhull will start their campaign against  UAE A on July 13 before playing against Pakistan A and Nepal on July 15 and 18, respectively.


India squad: Sai Sudharsan, Abhishek Sharma (VC), Nikin Jose, Pradosh Ranjan Paul, Yash Dhull (C), Riyan Parag, Nishant Sindhu, Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Manav Suthar, Yuvrajsinh Dodiya, Harshit Rana, Akash Singh, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Rajvardhan Hangargekar.
