New Delhi: A section of media and few former cricketers may heavily criticize Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir for their on-field attributes but Virender Sehwag feels there is nothing wrong it.

The former India opener said T20 demands a player to be aggressive, particularly when he is the leader of the side.

“I believe a captain always needs to be aggressive on the field and lift his teammates to get the best out of them. Whether it is Virat Kohli or Gautam Gambhir, a leader should always be aggressive and there’s nothing wrong in showing it,” said Sehwag in an exclusive chat with ABP News.

Interestingly, it was Gambhir who had mentioned that players from Delhi like to play their game hard and hence sometimes the aggression gets the better of them.

Hailing from Delhi, asked if it is the same with him, Sehwag was witty as ever to tell that he belongs to the older generation.

“That was not the case with me. May be I Belong to the older generation, so I always had a control on my aggression,” quipped the swashbuckling right hander.

In fact the Delhi dasher praised Gautam Gamnbhir for his captaincy skills and on-field aggression for leading his side to the top of the table with an easy 7-wicket win over the Rising Pune Supergiant.

“If a team is led by Gambhir then it will always fight. The way they fought back to defend a small total against RCB was phenomenal and now their batsmen have done the job while chasing a target against Pune. KKR really looks to be one of the strongest sides at the moment,” said Sehwag.
