Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar turned 47 today and former and current players thronged to social media to wish the 'God of Cricket' on his special day. A day before his birthday it was revealed that the Little Master won't be celebrating his birthday as a mark of respect towards COVID-19 warriors, who currently are batting on the front foot for India against the deadly infection.

In his recent post on Twitter, Sachin Tendulkar shared a photo on the social media platform in which he can be seen taking blessings of his mother. In the caption, he wrote: "Started my day by taking blessings from my Mother. Sharing a photo of Ganpati Bappa that she gifted me. Absolutely priceless."

Team India skipper Virat Kohli took to Twitter to wish the batting maestro on his birthday.

"Happy birthday to the man whose passion for the game of cricket has inspired many. Wishing you an amazing year ahead paaji. @sachintendulkar.", Virat wrote.

Sachin Tendulkar retired from all forms of cricket seven years ago but is still regarded as the best batsman to have ever played the game of cricket. In his cricketing career, Sachin scored 29437 runs in 200 Tests and 21367 runs in 463 ODIs at a remarkable strike rate of 86.2.
