New Delhi [India], Jan 11 (ANI): Batting legend Rahul Dravid, popularly known as 'The Wall' of Indian cricket, turned 44 today and warm birthday wishes poured in from cricket fraternity.

Extending their warm wishes to Dravid, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)) took to their official Twitter account and hailed the former Indian skipper for the commitment and consistency he showed towards the game.

"Commitment, Consistency, Class. Here's wishing a very Happy Birthday to Former #TeamIndia Skipper Rahul Dravid #HappyBirthdayDravid," the board said.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) too wished the batting great a very `Happy Birthday`.

"13,288 Test runs, 10,889 ODI runs, 48 international centuries, 1 legendary career..Happy Birthday Rahul Dravid!..," the world's cricket governing body tweeted.

"He was coach of the India side that reached the #U19CWC Final in 2016, and Rahul Dravid believes the class of 2018 can do just as well," the ICC added.

Former Indian cricketer Hemang Badani also extended his warm wishes to Dravid and insisted that if humbleness and simplicity were measured in bricks then he would have made his own 'Great Wall' of China by now.

Meanwhile, Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Chennai Super Kings described Dravid a `responsible` person, who was always ready to do anything for his team and give his 100 percent.

"He was always willing to do things for the team; ready to open, ready to bat at No.3, ready to keep, ready to captain. He was a responsible man and through his actions he inspired us to play from our hearts and give 100%." - @ImRaina . Always an inspiration. Super Birthday Dravid!," CSK wrote.

Considered as one of India's finest cricketers ever, Dravid has appeared in a total of 164 Tests amassing 13, 288 runs, including 36 centuries and 63 half-centuries, at an average of 52.31.

He has also played 344 ODIs and scored 10,889 runs in it at an average of 39.16.

As far as first-class cricket is concerned, Dravid has hammered 23,794 runs including 68 centuries and 117 half-centuries, in 298 matches he played in his career.

Dravid, who is also known as 'Mr. Dependable' for his unwavering focus and the ability to deliver results, is currently in New Zealand with the India U-19 team who are participating in the ICC World Cup, beginning from January 14. (ANI)
