New Delhi: Sixes and fours are raining heavily in the ongoing Big Bash League 2021-22. During the high-octane match between Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers on Tuesday, a well-timed six from Ben McDermott injured a fan in the stands at the Bellerive Oval.

It all happened in the 7th over of 2nd innings when Hobart Hurricanes' star batter Ben McDermott smashed a full toss from Andrew Tye for a huge six over deep mid-wicket.

The ball went straight over deep midwicket, into the stands where a fan ended up injuring himself badly as he messed up a simple catching opportunity. Just a few seconds after ball hit the fan on his forehead, he started bleeding.

As far as the match is concerned, batting first after winning the toss, Perth Scorchers posted a mammoth 182/5 in 20 overs, courtesy Mitchell Marsh's remarkable maiden T20 ton. The star batter returned unbeaten after scoring 100 runs off 60 balls with help of six fours and five sixes to put his team in a strong position.

Chasing 183 for the win, Darcy Short (31 off 29 balls) and McDermott (41 runs off 29 balls) stitched a solid 69-run partnership for the third wicket to keep Hobart Hurricanes alive in the match, but after the dismissal of these two, none of the other batters delivered.

Hurricanes managed to score 129/10 in 19 overs and ended up losing against Scorchers by 53 runs.
