Paris: Novak Djokovic completed a career Grand Slam after defeating Andy Murray 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 in the French Open final.

The top-ranked Serb also became the third man in history to win all four majors in a row. The others were Don Budge and Rod Laver. Laver was the last to win four consecutively, in 1962 and 1969.

Djokovic, who had lost three times over the past four years in the final at Roland Garros, now holds 12 Grand Slam titles.

Murray did not go down without a fight, breaking with a forehand pass to reduce his deficit to 5-3 in the fourth set. He then held, pumped his fists and saved two match points before Djokovic sealed the match after a baseline rally.
