New Delhi: Taking to Instagram, 28-year-old Jaydev Unadkat announced his engagement as he shared a picture with his partner and captioned the post,"6 hours, 2 meals & 1 shared mud cake later..". The young lad had a great Ranji Trophy season as was 'in the form of his life'. Unadkat's remarkable all-round heroics lead his state team, Saurashtra, to their maiden title win over Bengal in the final.

Not only that, the Saurashtra skipper also broke a 21-year-old record for the most wickets (65) by a fast bowler in a single Ranji Trophy season.

Unadkat's fiancée Rinny's Instagram profile read, "I'll know I've found a soulmate when my love exceeds that deep devotion that I feel for Cheese. Update: I've found love."

India Test specialist batsman Cheteshwar Pujara congratulated Unadkat and warned his fiancée Rinny that she would have to deal with a lot of 'bromance'.

After Saurashtra won their maiden Ranji Trophy title on Friday, Pujara said: "It's a great feeling and we are in a different world altogether. At the start of the season, we believed that we could win. Last season, we lost in the final, we had a chat after that and credit goes to the boys.

"The best thing about this team is most of them have played cricket together for a long time. Everyone contributes at sometime or the other. Not many state teams play as a team. It's a nice unit and whenever I am here, I always feel comfortable. We are working towards one process and we got the title today."

Brief Scores: Saurashtra: 425 and 101/4; Bengal: 381 all out
