Zombie Deer Disease Found In Many US Animals, Scientists Worried Of Potential Spread To Humans. Here's Why
Since several animals in the US and other regions have been infected with zombie deer disease or chronic wasting disease in the last two years, scientists are worried that it may spread to humans.
Zombie deer disease claimed the life of a mule deer buck in Yellowstone National Park, northwest Wyoming, in November this year. This is the first documented case of zombie deer disease, also known as chronic wasting disease, in the most famous natural reserve of the United States, according to the CWD Alliance, which provides latest information on the disease. Of 6,701 samples collected from the meat of deer, elk and moose in Wyoming in 2022, 800 have tested positive for chronic wasting
