New Delhi: One of the most celebrated scientists of this century, Stephen Hawking left the world on this day in 2018. The theoretical physicist was known for some of his incredible contribution to the world of science while battling ALS most of the years. 


Discovery of black holes emitting radiations and his book, ‘A Brief History of Time’ are some of his incredible contributions to the world of Science. 


His dedication towards scientific discoveries had earned him the US Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the US, in 2009 conferred by Barack Obama. He also became Commander of the Order of the British Empire.


Hawking was born on January 8, 1942 and breathed his last on March 14, 2018 in his Cambridge home.
