South Korea's 'artificial Sun', known as the Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research (KSTAR), has set a world record in nuclear fusion.

South Korea's 'artificial Sun', known as the Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research (KSTAR), has set a world record in nuclear fusion. During the latest KSTAR plasma campaign which started in December 2023 and ended in February 2024, the artificial Sun successfully sustained its plasma at an ion temperature of 100 million degrees Celsius for 48 seconds, the Korea Institute of Fusion Energy (KFE) has announced.  This temperature is seven times that of the Sun's core, which is 15
