Blue Origin has launched India's first civilian astronaut and second person to fly to space after Rakesh Sharma. Gopichand Thotakura has served as an international medical jet pilot. 

Gopichand Thotakura was launched to space on May 19, 2024, with five other crew members, at around 8:07 pm IST, as part of NS-25, Blue Origin's seventh human spaceflight mission. His fellow crew members are: Mason Angel, Sylvain Chiron, Ed Dwight, Ken Hess, & Carol Schaller
