Aditya-L1, India’s first space-based solar observatory to study the Sun, reached its final destination today (January 6, 2024). The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) inserted its maiden solar mission into a halo orbit around the Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 1 (L1). Aditya-L1 reached L1 at around 4 pm IST on January 6, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on X (formerly Twitter). Now that Aditya-L1 has reached its home, it will not stop.
