Leena informed the reporter that three days earlier they have given a written application to the Oshiwara police, as suggested by the police. Police have also given an acknowledgment copy to them. It has also been reported that Leena had been getting threats earlier too

The people, who are calling with threatening messages, are unhappy that how the women have been portrayed in the film and when it was argued with them that it’s a fictional film based on a fictional village and state, they gave an example. They said that one of the lead characters, played by Tanishtha Chatterjee, resembles their community’s women. They particularly pointed ut the way she dresses in black costume in the film.

They are threatening and saying that 'you people don't know what we can do'. The WhatsApp messages and calls to Aseem are coming from various numbers, said Leena.

Interestingly, Parched was released on September 23 but was leaked online before the release of the film. The film is also scheduled to release in Germany on October 27 this year.
