India consolidate number one position in ICC ODI ranking

South Africa’s massive defeat has handed England an opportunity to take the second spot if they beat New Zealand 5-0 in the upcoming ODI series.

India have jumped one position in the table and have 121 points in their kitty.

And, they will retain the position irrespective of the outcome of the sixth and final encounter.

While the African giants have slipped to 118 points from 120 following their defeat in the 50-overs format.

Following their historic victory at the St. George’s Park, the India team has leapfrogged South Africa to take the No.1 position in the ICC ODI ranking.

With this win, India claimed their first-ever series win across all formats in the rainbow nation.

The Virat Kohli led Indian team also registered its 9th consecutive bilateral ODI series win.

India thrashed South Africa by 73 runs to win the fifth one-dayer in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday.
