Right-wing outfit Vishwa Hindu Parishad has also intervened into the controversy and has joined the protests demanding immediate inclusion of students. Girl students who applied mehendi on the occasion of ‘Gauri Vrat’ were asked by the school teachers to stay at home till the colour completely fades off.
As the matter escalated, a local BJP MLA also met the school authorities questioning why the students have been kept out. He alleged that similar matters have cropped up in the past as well about which a complaint will be lodged to the Education Ministry.
Speaking to ABP News over the issue, the parents said the children being sent back is humiliating and also their studies are suffering.
Bharuch (Gujarat): Applying mehndi has proved dear to the students of Queen of Angels Convent School who are barred from entering the campus. Agitated parents of the students are protesting against the ‘unjust’ directive and have staged a protest outside the school premises.
