Duminy set to play his first game for Mumbai Indians in 8 years

“In all T20 he has bowled, JP bowls an average of 2.2 overs per game. This could also help Rohit Sharma from breaking the monotony. He has a class leg-spinner and a useful left-arm spinner in place so the South African will lend a good balance not only with the bat but also with the ball,” added Srikkanth.

2

Duminy last represented Mumbai Indians in IPL 2010 and will provide the much-needed stability in their middle order when he gets his opportunity against Royals on Sunday. His abilities to ball off-spin will also give a cushion to Krunal Pandya.

3

“If I was the captain, I would play JP Duminy in the middle order. His fielding and off-spin will also come in handy. “ said former India captain Kris Srikkanth.

4

Pollard has been a pale shadow of his glorified past, scoring only 33 runs in the four matches with a highest score of 28. That Pollard has not bowled a single delivery in four matches proves that captain Rohit has very little trust in Pollard’s bowling abilities.

5

It is only fair that Mumbai look for other options and Duminy fits the bill perfectly. The franchise through its official twitter handle gave all indications that the attacking left-hander will get to play his first match of the season.

6

South Africa’s J P Duminy is all set to replace Pollard for Sunday’s game against the Rajasthan Royals.

7

As the league runs into the business end, Mumbai Indians have indicated a change in their middle order.

8

The middle order though, still remains an area of concern for the defending champions with neither Pollard nor the Pandya brothers - Krunal and Hardik – firing.

9

Captain Rohit Sharma finally struck form with a brilliant 94-run innings that enabled Mumbai Indians to a huge score of 213 for 6.

10

Mumbai Indians finally found their touch in current edition of IPL by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 46 runs.
