Only five batsmen before Jaffer have managed to achieve the rare feat.

Ageless Jaffer also became the first Indian and first from Asia over 40 years of age to register a 250+ in a first-class innings.

Riding on marathon knock from Jaffer, Vidarbha also managed to score their highest total ever in first class cricket ending the second day on 598 for loss of three wickets.

Sunil Gavaskar (25834), Sachin Tendulkar (25396), Rahul Dravid (23794), VVS Laxman (19730), Vijay Hazare (18740) are the only players who have more runs than Jaffer in first class cricket.
