Twitter Becomes X: Quick Look At Tech Majors Which Changed Logos
After Twitter owner Elon Musk confirmed on Sunday that the microblogging platform has undergone a rebranding and is now known as 'X', and its iconic blue bird logo will be replaced with the new 'X' logo, CEO Linda Yaccarino said that 'X' will ensure unlimited interactivity, focusing on audio, video, messaging, and payments/banking. This transformation aims to create a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Microsoft — The company changed its logo many times in the past to keep rebranding, to suit changing times. Earlier, its logos were changed in 1975, 1980, 1982, 1987, and 2006. It also changed its slogan in 2011, and the final overhaul in Microsoft took place in 2012. In the current logo, the bold and italic side of the previous logo was replaced by the Segoe UI font. The current one has four squares of different colours form a window obviously reminiscent of Windows – one of the important products of the company. (Source: Wikimedia)
Yahoo — Yahoo's logo was redesigned in 2013, which featured finer letters and more delicate lines. It was also three-dimensional. But the latest Yahoo logo redesign was made by the Pentagram agency in 2019. Currently, the wordmark features lowercase lettering in a bolder typeface.
