Punjab Kings Successfully Defend IPL Lowest Total
In the match played at Mullanpur, Punjab Kings batted first and were bowled out for just 112 runs — a total that usually doesn't pose much threat in T20 cricket.
However, KKR's chase turned into a disaster. Their batting line-up collapsed and the entire team was dismissed for 95 runs in just 15.1 overs.
This match marked the first time in 16 years that KKR were bowled out for less than 100 runs in an IPL game.
The last such instance came in 2009, when they were dismissed for 95 against Mumbai Indians — the exact same total they managed in this defeat.
The 95-run total is now KKR's third-lowest score while chasing in IPL history. It also ranks as the third-lowest total ever recorded by any team against Punjab Kings. Only Delhi Capitals (67 in 2017) and Mumbai Indians (87 in 2011) have scored less.
With this victory, Punjab Kings created history by successfully defending the lowest total in IPL history. Previously, Chennai Super Kings held the record after defending 116 against Punjab in 2009.
