Latest Update On Virat Kohli's Availability For IND vs ENG 2nd ODI

ABP News Bureau   |  07 Feb 2025 03:21 PM (IST)
1

Shreyas Iyer replaced him in the Playing XI. However, Kohli has now fully recovered and is expected to return to his No. 3 position for the 2nd ODI against England in Cuttack.

2

Vice-captain Shubman Gill, who was the 'Player of the Match' in Nagpur, confirmed that Kohli's injury was not serious and there was no reason for concern.

3

According to Gill, Virat Kohli woke up on February 6 with slight swelling in his right knee, but the issue has now been resolved.

4

Though Gill didn't explicitly confirm, it seems Virat Kohli's absence in 1st ODI was a precautionary decision taken in consultation with the medical staff.

5

With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 around the corner, now fully fit, Virat Kohli is set to strengthen India's batting lineup in the second ODI.

6

Since Shreyas Iyer played a key role in India's victory in the 1st ODI, it is likely that Yashasvi Jaiswal will make way for Virat Kohli in the 2nd ODI.
