Holi Hair Care Essentials: Tips For Maintaining Healthy Hair During The Festival
Pre-Holi Hair Protection Before you head out to enjoy Holi, it is important to protect your hair from damage. Apply a generous amount of coconut oil, almond oil, or a silicone-based serum to your hair and scalp. These oils act as a protective barrier and prevent colors from penetrating deep into the hair shafts. (Image Source: Getty)

Choose a lightweight, breathable fabric that allows air to flow while providing good protection. It is not the best protection for your hair but it adds as a stylish flair to your Holi ensemble. Rinse with lukewarm water After the festivities, resist the urge to vigorously wash your hair to get rid of the colour. Instead, rinse your hair with lukewarm water to gently wash away the colors without stripping the natural oils. Avoid using hot water as it could open the hair cuticle and make your hair more prone to damage. (Image Source: Getty)
Use a mild cleanser Choose a mild sulfate-free shampoo, formulated for colored hair. Gently rub the shampoo into the scalp and hair, focusing on areas with colour residue. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Avoid using harsh shampoos or cleansers as they can similarly strip moisture from your hair. (Image Source: Getty)
Deep Conditioning Treatment Treat your hair with a nourishing deep conditioning treatment after Holi to replenish lost moisture and restore vitality. Opt for a hydrating hair mask or conditioner enriched with herbal oils along with argan oil, avocado oil, or shea butter. Leave the product on for at least 20-30 minutes and then rinse with cold water for soft, silky strands. (Image Source: Getty)
Untangle carefully After washing, gently detangle hair using a wide-toothed comb or detangling brush. Start at the ends and work your way down to the roots, taking care to get rid of any knots or tangles without causing breakage or damage. Using a conditioner or detangling spray can also make the process easier and add extra moisture to your hair. (Image Source: Getty)
