The summit will be held at the revamped India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) complex, formerly known as Pragati Maidan. This sprawling complex, constructed at a cost of Rs 2,700 crores and spread across 123 acres, houses the convention centre that will be the epicentre of G20 meetings. However, it's important to note that the venue will exclusively serve as a meeting hub, with delegates staying elsewhere. (Image Source: X@SGSiddaramu)
Speaking to ABP Live, ITPO Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Pradeep Singh Kharola revealed that the venue would be handed over to the Ministry of External Affairs around August 4-5. After the G20 Summit, the facility will be available for bookings as per requests, with only two government events planned before the summit. (Image Source: X@SGSiddaramu)
Kharola also emphasised that the centre will serve as more than just a convention space. It will provide a platform to showcase the talents of Indian artisans and other creative workers in the future. (Image Source: PTI)
The newly unveiled ITPO Convention Centre stands as India's largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facility. A notable feature of the convention centre is its embodiment of India's essence, from the ground floor to the top. (Image Source: PTI)
The complex is adorned with paintings, carpets, and showcases sourced from various corners of the country. Rajasthan miniatures grace the walls, depicting vibrant forests and bustling cities. Carpets from Uttar Pradesh and Kashmir add to the intricate decor. Notably, the national bird, the Peacock, is prominently featured throughout the Bharat Mandapam, adorning roofs, carpets, and doors, enhancing the elegance of the halls and rooms. (Image Source: PTI)
