The temple is opened only during Mandala Pooja in November and December.

The pilgrims of Sabarimala have to reach to hilltop after trekking on a difficult terrain as the route is so narrow it is inaccessible by vehicles.

The temple doors will be shut for rest of the year after celebrating Makaravilakku on Makara Sankranthi (January 14).
