New Delhi: In Colombia’s Guatavita, a short distance from the capital city of Bogota, an upside-down house has become the talk of the town. Visitors looking for fun activities amid Covid restrictions seem to be captivated by the concept.
The house designed by its Austrian owner Fritz Schall lets tourists walk on ‘ceilings’ instead of floors, news agency Reuters reported.
Schall lives in Colombia with his family.
He recalled how it went when he first shared his plans that he was going to make a house that could be “upside-down”.
“Everyone looked at me like I was mad, they didn't believe what I was saying,” Reuters quoted Schall as saying.
He said he got inspiration for the house during a trip to Austria back in 2015. He had spotted a similar house there.
Schall said the Covid-19 pandemic posed some challenges in the construction but he was able to finally finish it by the beginning of 2022.
"...we inaugurated it three weeks ago," he said.
