New Delhi: Storm Eunice is one of the most powerful storms that Europe has braced in the last 30 years. It has disrupted air, rail, and sea routes. However, despite the gusts and bad weather, planes still safely landed at one of the world’s busiest, London’s Heathrow Airport, because of some highly skilled pilots. Among these were two Air India flights that safely landed at Heathrow. A video that shows one of them making a safe landing has gone viral on the internet.
The video shows the aircraft, reportedly a Boeing 747 Dreamliner, arriving at runway 27L at the Heathrow Airport. According to Zee News English, the two Air India flights were AI-147 and AI-145 and were being flown by Captains Achint Bhardwaj and Aditya Rao respectively.
The video which has now gone viral was posted by a YouTube channel that goes by the name of ‘Big Jet TV’, as per DNA. The channel live streams airplane landings and the streamer commented about the Air India flight and said, “Very skilled Indian pilot there.”
The video also caught the attention of IPS officer Kiran Bedi who shared the video on Twitter and said, “Air India flight lands safely in London in the middle of ongoing storm Eunice. High praise for the skilled AI pilot.”
Air India also appreciated the skills of their pilots. An Air India official told DNA, “Our skilled pilots landed in London when many other airlines couldn’t.”
The Storm Eunice has caused devastating impacts in the UK. It has caused at least 16 casualties and is being compared with the ‘Great Storm’ of 1987 which jolted the UK and northern France.
