Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and former party chief Rahul Gandhi on Sunday extended their greetings to the people from three northeastern states -- Manipur, Tripura, and Meghalaya -- on their statehood day. Taking to X, PM Modi said: "On Manipur's Statehood Day, my best wishes to the people of the state. Manipur has made a strong contribution to India's progress. We take pride in the culture and traditions of the state. I pray for the continued development of Manipur."






Modi also wished Tripura's people a happy statehood day, wishing that the day would be spent celebrating the state's distinct history and rich legacy.


"Wishing prosperity and harmony to the people of Tripura," he said.


In another post on X, Modi said, "Happy Statehood Day to the people of Meghalaya! Today is an occasion to celebrate the incredible culture of Meghalaya and the achievements of the people there. May Meghalaya scale new heights of progress in the times to come."


Meanwhile, in a post on X, Kharge said: “We extend our warm wishes to the people of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura on their Foundation Day.” Kharge stated that in the last 52 years, the people of these states, endowed with breathtaking natural beauty, variety, and innovation, have made enormous contributions to nation building.






“We wish you peace, prosperity and all around progress,” he said.


In a post on X, Gandhi said, “Heartfelt greetings to the wonderful people of Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura on their Statehood Day."



“Your unique identities, rich cultures, and proud traditions are integral threads in India’s diverse and harmonious tapestry, which must be preserved and protected,” the former Congress president said.
