In a public rally in Arunachal Pradesh, BJP President J P Nadda on Saturday (June 17) chastised the Congress for its alleged lack of interest in building roads in border areas, blaming it on a lack of foreign policy. Nadda claimed that Congress avoided upsetting neighbouring countries by ignoring infrastructure development in these critical regions during its long rule.
Nadda stated that the Congress party's strategy was to avoid developing border areas in order to avoid potential government trouble. In contrast, he praised the Narendra Modi government for taking a firm stance in dealing with the Ladakh standoff, sending a clear message to China.
"The best defence for the Congress party is not to develop border areas because it may cause more trouble for the government," he was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
The government of Narendra Modi "handled the Ladakh standoff with strong hands and sent a clear signal to China," he said. Because of his "strong foreign policy," as stated in the report, the entire world now accepts Modi as a powerful leader.
The rally, held to commemorate nine years of the Modi government at the Centre and seven years of the Pema Khandu government in the state, provided a platform for Nadda to emphasise the BJP's commitment to border area development and its foreign policy stance.

Earlier in the day, Nadda praised India's remarkable progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, emphasising the transformative impact witnessed over the last nine years. Nadda emphasised infrastructure development, effective governance, and comprehensive growth as hallmarks of the Modi government's tenure.
"Previously, India was known for its corruption, policy paralysis, and poor governance. Now, the entire world respects the country for all-round development and good governance," the BJP chief said at a rally marking the end of the Modi government's nine-year tenure in South Tripura's Santirbazar school ground, PTI reported. Nadda emphasised the Centre's achievements in infrastructure development, stating that 13,125 kilometres of border roads have been built to secure the international border.
Nadda claimed that Modi had introduced report card-based politics and that he was the man who changed vote bank politics by introducing growth-centric policies.
"BJP leaders seek people's blessings by presenting report cards to voters, which was previously missing," he said.
